12 Major Developments on the Gold Coast

‘No other comparably scaled city in Australia can credibly claim to double in size over the next 35 years and yet that is precisely the promise of the Gold Coast’

This was the comment made by leading Australian Demographer, Bernard Salt, in a report earlier this year. By the mid-21st Century, the Gold Coast (including the urban part of Tweed) is projected to be home to 1.2 million residents and welcome an even greater number of tourists annually.

The Gold Coast is growing and we’re seeing a city-wide transformation. Population growth, diversification of the economy and investment in the lead up to the Commonwealth Games in 2018 are all contributing to the future of this remarkable city.

Close to $13 billion is being invested in major infrastructure projects across the Gold Coast  including major transportation infrastructure; an integrated health and knowledge precinct; world-class sporting infrastructure; revitalisation of the CBD;  development of iconic parklands; and a new cultural precinct.

We’ve compiled a list of the some of the developments that are transforming the city and contributing to its ever-changing skyline, and while some are still in DA stages, we can see the quality of developments that look to be in the pipeline.
