Multi-award winning Ristorante Fellini is celebrating 21 years since opening its doors at Marina Mirage on the Gold Coast.

Restaurateurs Carlo Percuoco, Richard Burt and Raffaele Di Benedetto are celebrating the milestone by reflecting on the restaurant’s accomplishments, including serving up more than 1.2 million dishes of authentic Italian cuisine.

“That’s enough to provide dinner to the entire population of the Gold Coast and still have leftovers,” says co-owner Carlo Percuoco.

“Our Master of Pasta and co-owner Raffaele Di Benedetto has been kept busy making more than 45,000 kilos of fresh pasta at our onsite factory Pastificio Fellini – and that figure doesn’t even include the pasta we wholesale to other restaurants.

“We have also served one of our most popular dishes, Fiori di Zucchini, 100,000 times over the past 21 years.”

Fiori di Zucchini is a combination of delicate zucchini flowers filled with spanner crab meat and lightly fried in a yeast batter, served with a san marzano tomato salad drizzled with aged balsamic, basil and extra virgin olive oil.

In addition, Ristorante Fellini has shaken up more than 21,000 Espresso Martinis and served up more than 300,000 bottled of wine.

Percuoco says these numbers are reflective of the hard work of the Fellini team.

“Since opening our doors we have gone to great lengths to set a standard of excellence that focuses on service, cuisine and tradition – sourcing our ingredients from specialist suppliers, training our wait staff in fine dining service, and even importing specialist pasta machines from Italy so we can make pasta fresh onsite daily,” he says.

Since opening its doors in 1996, Fellini has also earned more than 100 culinary awards including best Italian restaurant throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory 2016, and has been recognised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce’s Ospitalita Italiana Seal as upholding the quality, authenticity and traditions of Italian cuisine.

The Gold Coast restaurant has also hosted international celebrities including Sir Michael Caine, Mike Myers, Kate Hudson, Colin Firth, Penelope Cruz, Freddie Prinze Jnr, Joel and Benji Madden, Hugh Jackman and Deborah-Lee Furness and The Rolling Stones.

“It has been an amazing journey over the past 21 years for my whole family and my partners and we look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence on the Gold Coast,” says Percuoco.

Ristorante Fellini is located at Marina Mirage, Main Beach on the Gold Coast.
